Announcing Half Mystic's Nominees for the 2020 Pushcart Prize
For the third year running, I & the Half Mystic team are deeply honoured to announce our nominees for the 2020 Pushcart Prize. While each of the pieces we publish in our books & journal touches our editors as another sun-spun & bright-armed definition of joy, several poems & short stories we’ve had the privilege of sharing with our readers in the past year stood out as the best of the best:
“In the End (Semantics)” by Chelsea Dingman (in Half Mystic Journal’s Issue VI: Interlude)
“Variations on a Theme” by Diannely Antigua (in Half Mystic Journal’s Issue VI: Interlude)
“While Everything Falls Apart, Imagine How You’ll Teach Your Son About Love” by Julia Kolchinsky Dasbach (in Half Mystic Journal’s Issue VII: Aubade)
“Hours Past Curfew” by Dina Hardy (in Half Mystic Journal’s Issue VII: Aubade)
“Style” by Rona Wang (in Cranesong)
“Blackwater” by Tamara Jobe (in Hag)
Thank goodness for art & thank goodness for you. We wish every nominee all the best of luck in the 2020 Pushcart Prize, & we can’t express how much each piece that passes through our inbox means to our team, how they burn & shape us, how they sing technicolour as truth even through all this darkness. You are so good to us & we are full of mammoth gratitude. xx
