Announcing Half Mystic's Nominees for the 2018 Pushcart Prize
Dear songbirds, we are so thrilled to share Half Mystic's first nominations for the Pushcart Prize. Working with every contributor to the journal over the past year has been an incredible experience, & these five pieces stand out to us as being the most representative of Half Mystic's philosophy & goals. Each of these pieces sings & swoops & soars with movement, & we couldn't be more pleased to honour them with our 2018 nominations:
"Nocturne for José" by Sophia Terazawa (published in Half Mystic Journal's Issue III: Nocturne)
"Rest" by Lydia Havens (published in Half Mystic Journal's Issue II: Saudade)
"Two of Cups" by Maryse Meijer (published in Half Mystic Journal's Issue III: Nocturne)
"Late November. You Still Owe Me a Verb." by Emily Bartholet (published in Half Mystic Journal's Issue II: Saudade)
"Pre-Existing Condition" by Erin Jin Mei O'Malley (published in Half Mystic Journal's Issue III: Nocturne)
Congratulations & best of luck to all of our 2018 Pushcart Prize nominees! It's an honour to serve as a home for your gorgeous work, & we can't wait to see the places you go next. xx
