Postponing Half Mystic Journal's Issue VIII: Sforzando

Dear songbirds, we hope you’re doing well & staying safe as the world moves through the latest waves of the pandemic & all it entails.

After much deliberation, we’ve made the difficult choice to push back the publication date of Half Mystic Journal’s Issue VIII: Sforzando, from the originally-planned July 18th to the new release of July 28th. Over the past several weeks, one of our team members has experienced a COVID scare (they are completely fine now, fortunately) & I have been dealing with a bad bout of food poisoning that’s made it difficult to work. Combined with the general challenges of operating a small press during a pandemic, we are running far from full capacity at the moment. We wanted to take an extra ten days to ensure that we put the level of time, rigour, & determination into this issue that it deserves. 

In eight journal issues, six books, & one season of our podcast, this is the first time that we’ve ever postponed a release. We don’t come to this decision lightly, & we believe the extra breathing room is truly necessary to publishing Issue VIII with care & intentionality. 

We’re grateful for your patience & understanding as we work to navigate artistically, professionally, & personally through these difficult times. To those who have already preordered the sforzando issue, we’ll send the PDF or paperback copy to you as normal on the 28th—& if you haven’t preordered yet, you can do so at this link to support Half Mystic’s work.
