Announcing the Submission Deadline for Issue III: Nocturne

And once more, sure as night rings onto the horizon, the third reading period for Half Mystic is closed. Over the two years we’ve been curating this small journal & bringing it to your doorstep, we’ve come to settle into a familiar dreaming rhythm, & yet the submissions during this reading period somehow managed to both comfort & astound us in their gorgeous, intricately crafted musicality. This is the way the HM team is learning to face the darkness: with a newfound courage, bolstered by the songs you have gifted to us.

Half Mystic’s Issue III: Nocturne is a rich, abrupt volume of art, lyrics, & writing that stretches out through darkness, plucks the strings of night, burns stars into being even in all this black. Featuring 17 pieces of original writing & music, 14 pieces of art from & an interview with our soon-to-be-unveiled featured artist, & three columns by the HM team, we could not be more excited to send it to you for sweet-sticky summer nights ahead.

If you submitted a piece to HM in the final days of the nocturne reading period, expect our decision to arrive in your inbox within the next week. It is a joy to read your work.
